For Leeds to stay up big money needs to be spent - do the 49's have the appetite for spending c£150m as well as similar in the stadium?
Of the current squad so few are at the required standard - the PL is a different beast.
Totally agree. I’d love to see these lads go up as Champions and win a medal, because the likelihood is it will be the only one most will ever win. Tinkering around the edges in the P.L will be fatal. The majority of this squad either got us relegated last time or were deemed not good enough for the Premier League by their former/parent clubs. It’s an inconvenient truth but there it is. Of the others, the likes of Piroe, Tanaka and Gruev will be playing at a level they’ve not being exposed to on a regular basis. If Piroe thinks he’s been bullied by centre backs in The Championship, there’s no point in getting out of bed on a Saturday to go up against the likes of Konate, Van Dijk and Gabriel etc , they’ll eat him alive. Gruev and Tanaka won’t have all the time in the world to receive a ball and stand looking around for the best option, they’ll probably spend the best part of the game attempting to stop opponents running past or in behind them. Like Sal said, it’s a whole new ball game. Ideally we spend a shed load of money, spend it wisely and be ruthless with the lads who are never gonna be good enough. We’ve wasted too much time playing the Geldhart, Sam Greenwood game, a new culture has got to evolve within the club and decision makers.
